Week 38...Already???

Hey Everyone!
This week was great!  It started out really rough but by the end it was fantastic! :)  Sister Parry and I were able to experience a lot of miracles at the end of this week.... It's definitely true that the Lord will push you until you are ready to give up and then He blesses you will so many miracles!  Up until Thursday, I was just done.... We hadn't had very many lessons for the week, things just weren't progressing.  Then on Thursday, the sun came out and it was actually quite warm for the next three days so Sister Parry and I did a ton of walking!  My hips have been so sore from walking but it really has been great regardless.  We were able to have some great success with finding others this week, especially when we have been walking.  We have just been able to teach really well together and we have had more unity between us as we have taught lessons.  We have had some fantastic lessons teaching the Less-active members of our ward the Restoration and the Spirit has definitely been there.  We also were able to teach our investigator, Shannon, the Plan of Salvation and that went super well too! :)
We were able to teach our investigators, Scott and Tanya, the Plan of Salvation last night and that went fantastic!  Scott is actually the Great- Great- Great- Great- Grandson of Joseph Smith so he has read the Book of Mormon all the way through and Preach My Gospel (I haven't even done that yet)... They totally agree with everything they have read about the Gospel and they see how the Book of Mormon and the Bible connect.  They are golden!  They are just a great family and I can't wait to see where they progress!  Crossing my fingers that they will progress quickly!
We were also able to meet a Part-member family this week and they are awesome too!  Natoshia and David were so nice to us when we went and visited and they are just a great family too! :) We hope to be able to help them progress as well!
The Kibbie family has been sick this week so we weren't able to follow through with our dinner appointment on Wednesday.... Sad day but we should be meeting with them next week hopefully!
We were able to get a couple of the less-actives that we are working with to come to the Relief Society activity on Wednesday and they had a lot of fun!  Now we are just working to help them come to church... We will definitely get them there this week.
We also had some interesting experiences tracting this week.... We stopped and talked to a lady named Leanna.  She was so funny!  She kept telling us that she thought everything about our religion was great except for the fact that we "had that other book."  She even told us if we didn't have the Book of Mormon, our church would be the one that she would join.  We asked her if she had ever read it and she told us, "I can't.  I'm not supposed to."  She LOVES the Bible and is caught up on Revelation 22:18 where it talks about adding to the Bible.  It was so funny!
We also went to go visit one of our potential investigators and her husband answered the door.  We asked if his wife was home and he said no.  We went to introduce ourselves and he wouldn't even shake our hands.  He then proceeded to tell us that he was "happily Jewish" and slammed the door in our face.....
The temple was amazing!  We saw the newest movie (not your favorite mom) but it was amazing!  We have to head to go shopping now so I will expound more on the temple experience next week! :)
Love you all!

Week 37..... HALF WAY MARK!!!

Hey!
This week was really good! We were able to accomplish a lot of stuff with the Lord's help! We were able to find a lot of potential investigators this week, which is always good for us :)
We were able to stop by Sister Kibbie's home this week as well. She is so awesome! When we were over there, she was telling us about how she had been talking with her brother-in-law (the one that just got home from his mission) about what the next steps are. He told her that the missionaries have some lessons that they teach and so she ended up telling us that she is ready to take the lessons! Sister Parry and I are super excited! We were supposed to have a lesson with them tomorrow but their entire family is sick with the flu so they had to cancel. We are praying that they get feeling better soon.
We also were able to go to a new convert fireside on Sunday!  That was such a great experience.  It was a testimony meeting specifically for recent converts.  It was so great to hear how others have come in contact with the gospel and how the gospel has changed their lives.  Even some people who were learning about the gospel but hadn't been baptized yet got up and bore their testimonies!  The Spirit was so strong! The picture that says "The Original GPS" was hanging up in the church building that the fireside was in and we all got a kick out of it! :)
In other news.... I hit my 9 month mark this week!!!!! SO CRAZY!  I can't believe I have been out for half of my mission!  It is going by so fast and I don't want it to!  Where has the time gone?
I am super excited for next P-day because we get to go to the temple! :)  so that means no email on Monday.  I can't wait to go.... I have been in need of a temple trip for the last 7 months and now I get to go! :)
Those were about the most exciting things that happened this week and I can't wait to see what miracles this week brings down in Elk Plain! I love this area and can't wait to see where it is going to go! :)

P.S. a couple pictures from this week... a gorgeous sunset and The Original GPS! :)

Week 36

Hey everyone!

Nothing too exciting happened this week.  Just the normal missionary work going on.  We had exchanges this week and I was paired with Sister Judd.  She is such a great missionary.  She really knows how to work hard and to find people to teach.  We had a super productive day when we were working together.  I learned so much from her and can't wait to put it into practice this week.  We basically tracted all day long..... Not always the best but it was an adventure..... It was pouring rain all day long so both of us were SOAKED!!!! It was so cold and windy, which made it even colder but it was really good none the less.
Our investigator Amber came to church for the first time yesterday!  It was so exciting to see her there and we hope that she will continue to progress and come back!  Her daughter Madeline loved Primary so we hope that will help Amber get there as well.
Other than that, nothing else really happened.... Just continuing to press forward and work as hard as I possibly can each week.  Thank you so much for everything you do for me! :)  Love you all!

Week 35...Transfers

Hey Everyone!
First thing's first.... I am staying in Graham for another 6 weeks with Sister Parry!  I am super excited because this week we were able to find a couple really solid people who are so excited to learn more about the Gospel.
This week was great!  Nothing super exciting happened.... it just was good.  We were able to have quite a few other lessons and a few member lessons.  We were especially blessed to be able to meet with the Kibbie family.  They are a Part-member family but Sister Kibbie was really interested in learning more about the church.  She was actually a referral from her brother-in-law  who just got home from his mission in Brazil about a month ago.  He visited our ward and told us about Sister Kibbie.  We were able to finally meet with them on Thursday and have dinner with them.  They are such a cute family.  She had so many great questions and Sister Parry and I are super excited to go back this week!  She is going to be a great person to teach! :)
This week we were also able to meet with Krista again and that was awesome!  She hadn't been feeling well for a while and so we told her about priesthood blessings and she said she would like one.  When we went over this week, the Elders and Elder and Sister Logan (the senior couple in our ward) came and gave her a blessing.  It was so awesome and there were some great promises in the blessing too!
Other than that, nothing too exciting happened... New Year's was just another day for us... Nothing like what normally happens on New Year's Eve but that is totally okay :)  Thank you so much for everything you do for me!  Love you!
